According to sources, Apple Inc. will begin assembling iPhones through Foxconn's factory in India as soon as 2019. It is reported that this will be Foxconn's first production of the phone in India.

Reuters reported on the 27th that the source said that Foxconn will produce Apple's most expensive high-end models in India, including its current flagship product, the iPhone X series. The source said that this may help Apple to take its business in India to a new level.

The Wall Street Journal reported on December 18 that in view of the global easing of smartphone sales, smartphone makers such as Apple are counting on business opportunities from the Indian market and local new mobile phone users to achieve growth. However, Appleā€™s market share in India, which is a technology giant, has continued to decline. Its revenues are much lower than expected, and the local leadership is also unstable.

In order to catch up with competitors, Apple set up a factory near Bangalore in southern India last year to assemble its cheapest iPhone SE.

The source said to Reuters that the work of assembling the Apple mobile phone will be carried out at Foxconn's factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Industrial Minister MC Sampath revealed to Reuters that Foxconn will invest 25 billion rupees (about 356 million US dollars) to expand the plant. He said that this investment will create 25,000 jobs for the local area.

Foxconn has several factories in India. In 2015, Foxconn also announced that it will invest 5 billion US dollars in Mahartotra to build a mobile phone and parts factory, and will create 50,000 jobs for local areas by 2020. . In July this year, the Economic Times of India reported on the progress of the plan.
