Overseas network November 29, according to Japan's daily news report, Japan will purchase an uninhabited island in Ma'er Island, Ma Maodao, for US fighters to train this year. Before the US military conducted training, it was repeatedly complained of noise from the local people. Japan intends to transfer the training ground.

The Japanese government is currently negotiating a candidate site for the US aircraft carrier carrier-based ground-based landing training (FCLP). Recently, the Japanese media reported that Ma Ma Island, the western city of Kagoshima Prefecture, has been selected. The Japanese government intends to complete negotiations with the property owners of the island this year. The difficulty of negotiating now is mainly on the price. After the two sides made one step, the Japanese government hopes to buy Ma Mao Island at a price between 11 billion and 14 billion yen (about 670 million to 860 million yuan).

Earlier, the local government in Japan repeatedly protested because of noise pollution from US military training. The Japanese government wants to transfer the MV-22 "Osprey" training conducted by the US Navy in Okinawa.

In June 2011, the Japan-US Security Assurance Agreement Committee stated in a joint document that Ma Mashima was used as a candidate for the transfer of land-based landing training for carrier aircraft. In 2016, there were also sales negotiations, but the development company that owns most of the property rights of the uninhabited island was asking for 20 billion yen (about 1.2 billion yuan). The Japanese Defense Ministry only thought of 5 billion yen at the time, and the negotiations were stranded.

US military base in Japan

Land-based landing training requires ship-borne aircraft to constantly take off and land, because noise pollution has been very serious, and it has been scheduled to be carried out on Japan's Iwo Jima since 1991. However, when the weather in the sulphur island is bad, this training will not be carried out, so it will go to the US Army's Atsugi base in Kanagawa Prefecture and the US military's Misawa base in Aomori Prefecture for training. There were many complaints about noise pollution during training. For example, in June 2017, about 6,000 people had to sue the Japanese government and demanded that the Japanese authorities ban the Japanese troops stationed in Japan at the Atsugi base and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces flying from midnight to the next morning, and claim for such noise pollution.

Ma Maodao is an uninhabited island, 1400 kilometers from Iwo Jima and 400 kilometers from the Rock State Base. It is an ideal training ground for the US military. If the negotiations are blocked, the Japanese government intends to further explain the situation to the local authorities and seek understanding.
