On Friday, the Chinese Consulate in Karachi was attacked. At least two police officers were killed and three attackers were killed. The incident took place in the province of Dickson in southern Pakistan. According to the latest news from Reuters, at least eight people were killed in a market near Peshawar in the northwestern city of Pakistan.

Pakistani Geo News said that there was an attack outside the 4th building of the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Two policemen were killed and the other was injured.

According to the report, at around 9:30 am local time, gunshots sounded outside the building of the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. 

According to sources, "three to four men tried to enter the Chinese consulate but were shot by security guards," the source added, adding that security forces outside the Chinese consulate fired back.

The report said that two policemen were killed in the attack and the other was injured. Local hospital spokesperson Seemin Jamali said that two bodies were confirmed to be taken to the hospital and the wounded were in critical condition.

The police further told Geo News that an attacker was killed and a suicide jacket was found. A large number of police officers were deployed at the scene of the accident and the road leading to the consulate was blocked. 

Pakistan’s “Dawn Daily” news, shortly after the incident, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Qureshi condemned the incident and praised the way law enforcement agencies dealt with the attack. "This incident is sad. The terrorists involved in the incident have been killed. We are keeping in touch with the Chinese Consul General. Pakistan and China will jointly defeat the forces that want to prevent (national) development," he said.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Faisal wrote on Twitter: "We condemn the attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi. The security forces have intervened. Three terrorists have been killed
