The report quoted a South Korean government source as saying that the mine clearance operations between the two sides will end on the 20th. The two countries began to mine in the common security area on the 1st of this month. The DPRK discovered five mines and detonated them. The South Korean side did not find mines. According to the provisions of the "19.19 Military Agreement" between the ROK and the DPRK, the two sides must withdraw their troops and weapons within five days of completing the mine-clearing work. The DPRK will remove five outposts, and the South Korean side will remove four outposts. All the submachine guns, AK-47 rifles and pistols in the garrison area will be withdrawn. After the disarming, the Korean and North Koreans will send 35 people to work in the joint garrison area. These people will wear the blue-colored "Pangmen shop civil police" armband, without carrying firearms. The Korean people and foreign tourists can enter and leave the joint security area free of charge from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The South Korean and "United Nations Command" will also dismantle or adjust the surveillance equipment in the joint security area, and hold the second meeting of the tripartite consultation mechanism to discuss the composition, tasks, and operational methods of the joint management organization after disarmament.
