Printed the Russian President of the S-400 Air Defense Missile: India will soon see the consequences

A week after India signed an agreement with Russia to purchase the S-400 missile, US President Trump said on Wednesday that India will "see soon" its decision on sanctions.

Last Friday, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India and talks with Indian Prime Minister Modi, India signed a contract worth $5.43 billion with Russia to buy five S- 400 air defense missile systems from Russia and begin in 2020. Delivery. Since then, India will become the third country to purchase the system after China and Turkey.

According to the "India Times" reported on the 11th, when Trump was asked about the agreement signed between India and Russia, he said, "India will find the consequences, and you will soon see that it may be faster than you think. ."

In an interview with Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo was also present, and he plans to meet Trump later. Earlier, Pompeo and Defense Minister Matisse had argued to abandon sanctions against India. Last week, the White House said that the US president gave India $5 billion in trading exemptions in order to enable countries like India to no longer buy weapons from Russia.

Russia and India have a lot of cooperation in the field of military technology cooperation. More than 70% of the Indian military's weapons and equipment are manufactured by Russia or the Soviet Union. Every year Russia supplies India with billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment.

On August 2, 2017, US President Trump signed the "Anti-American Enemy Law against Sanctions" (CAATSA). The bill provides for additional restrictions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, as well as on third countries that cooperate with Russian defense companies. India is trying to convince Washington that, given the long history of Russia-India defense cooperation, the country has reason to be free from sanctions against the US Enemy Act (CAATSA).

The White House National Security Council spokesperson said after the signing of the Russian-Syrian S-400 contract that "the president of CAATSA has a very small exemption. The bill aims to make other countries abandon the purchase of weapons from Russia, but allows the purchase of parts that have been purchased." A spokesperson for the US Embassy in New Delhi said that CAATSA is aimed at Moscow and is not intended to undermine the military capabilities of its allies.

On October 11, the Russian satellite news agency reported that the defense industry sources who understand the situation of the Indian government said that after signing a contract to purchase the Russian S-400 air defense missile system, India realized that it might be subject to US sanctions, but not Plans to abandon cooperation with Moscow in the field of defense.

Earlier, the New India Express said that the Indian Army Chief of Staff, Lavat, had said that the US sanctions against India were expected, but India still intends to continue to implement its own policy decisions.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov also said on the "Russian" TV program on the 7th of this month that Russia and India signed a contract for the supply of S-400 systems based on years of cooperation between the two sides and will not be undermined by the threat of US sanctions.
