Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib was granted 5.8 million bail in installments

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib was granted a bail of RM3.5 million (approximately 5.8 million yuan) and two guarantors on bail on the 20th.

Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao reported that the Malaysian court also allowed Najib to repay bail in installments by next Friday. The next court date is scheduled for November 16.

On the afternoon of the 20th, Najib was accused of corruption and money laundering related to the 1MDB scandal, including 21 charges related to money laundering and 4 counts of corruption. This includes hundreds of millions of dollars being transferred to his personal bank account. Coupled with the charges he faced in July this year, Najib has so far faced 32 cases. Najib denied all charges after the court read the charges against him.
