The United States will launch the spacecraft closest to the sun to challenge the sundial layer of millions of degrees of heat

Original title: NASA will launch the spacecraft closest to the sun in history, challenging the daily heat of millions of degrees

A new "Kwafu Day by Day" tour is about to open, breaking the limit of artificial objects approaching the sun. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recently announced that its new generation of solar detector Parker Solar Probe will be launched as early as August 6th, taking the Delta IV heavy rocket from Canavera, Florida. The angle is lifted off.

Day trip to Parker

During the seven-year mission, the Parker will go deep into the corona layer of more than one million degrees Celsius, and recently it has only 3.8 million miles (about 6.1 million kilometers) from the surface of the sun, a significant record. Historically, humans have dispatched more than 15 detectors to the Sun, the closest being the "Sun God 2" launched in 1976, about 45 million kilometers from the surface of the sun.

Three questions

The sun that looks to the naked eye is a constant disc, but it is actually a dynamic and active star. The atmosphere constantly emits magnetic material outwards, which can spread beyond the orbit of Pluto and sometimes interfere with radio signals on Earth. The effects of solar activity on the earth are collectively referred to as “space weather”.

“The energy of the sun is always in the human world,” said Parker Solar Detector project scientist Nicky Fox. “Although the solar wind is not visible, we can see the beautiful aurora it produces. This shows that a lot of solar energy and particles are Pouring into the Earth's atmosphere"

This acceleration mechanism of the solar wind is one of the three basic problems that Parker wants to clarify. Observations have shown that the process of accelerating the solar wind to supersonic speed appears in the corona layer.

The so-called corona layer, the outermost layer of the solar atmosphere. In the process of total solar eclipse, the aperture we saw was the sundial.
