US approves the sale of 64 Patriot missiles

Overseas network September 14 news, according to Reuters, the US "Diplomatic Scholar" website reported that the US Department of Defense confirmed on the 13th that the US State Department has approved the sale of 2.6 billion US dollars (about 18 billion yuan) of military weapons to South Korea, Covers six P-8A "Poseidon" anti-submarine aircraft and 64 PAC-3 "Patriot" interceptor missiles and related accessories.

It is reported that the two countries will conduct the transaction through the "foreign military sales" method, which still needs to be approved by the US Congress.

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said the anti-submarine aircraft will be used for maritime reconnaissance, including the search for submarines, for a total price of $2.11 billion. The "Patriot" anti-missile system is priced at $501 million.

"This order will help improve South Korea's missile defense capabilities," the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said it will also upgrade the South Korean navy's capabilities to support US national security goals.
