On June 23, 12 junior football players and 1 coach from the county of Chiang Rai, in the northern part of Thailand, entered the cave of a national park after the training. The Chinese Embassy in Thailand said on June 29 that at the invitation of the Thai side, six Chinese cave rescue experts carrying professional equipment arrived at the Chiang Rai site on the evening of the 29th. They are from more than 100 rescue teams under their jurisdiction. The Beijing Pingyi Public Welfare Foundation, which has experience in rescue in Myanmar and Nepal, will work closely with the Thai side and other rescue forces to fully engage in search and rescue operations.

From the front report, rescuers used large pumps to absorb water to lower the water level, and laid ropes and oxygen tanks to continue to advance into the cave. This is the first time in several days that rescue operations have progressed. The rescue team also looked for new entrances in the jungle on the mountainside. Thai Navy generals said on the 1st, “The most important thing is to find these children today.” The BBC quoted Thai experts as saying that whether children live depends on whether they can find drinking water.
